The Anchorage National Engineers Week Organizing Committee is pleased to welcome Dr. KATHERINE ROSSINGTON of Corning Incorporated is a Technology Manager for the Advanced Optics division, as our guest speaker at the 2018 Awards Banquet.
Prior to her current assignment, Katherine was the Business Technology Director for the newest division, Pharmaceutical Technologies, leading the development organization, which launched Valor™ glass and Sr. Research Associate in Process Research and is Research Manager of the Melting Process Team.
She also served as Development Associate in Specialty Materials where she helped the transfer of new glass compositions from Research to Manufacturing including early Gorilla® Glass® (used in cell phones and other high tech products).
Dr. Rossington joined Corning 1999 as a Senior Process Engineer in Specialty Materials Polarcor™ Manufacturing. While in Photonic Materials, she was the metrology Subject Matter Expert and Plant Engineering Manager for Polarcor™, OptiFocus™, and QuantumFocus™.
Prior to joining Corning, she was with Owens-Illinoi, Inc. in its glass container manufacturing in Ohio, Illinois, and North Carolina.
Katherine holds a BS, MS, and PhD in Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University, the New York State College of Ceramics.
